The idea of ULTRA festival is this: Ultra runners don't get enough chance to socialise. We're in this wonderful, helpful, inclusive community, and we only generally ever talk to each other when we're running or marshalling a race, or through Facebook. So, here's an opportunity for 100 ultra runners to hang out with each other, camping, drinking, eating and watching movies. Old hands at the sport, or people who are just considering an ultra, all are welcome.

In-between beers and movies there'll be the opportunity to run, listen to talks and brush-up on technique in one of our workshops. In 2016 we ran with the legendary nine-time-Comrade-winning South African ultra runner Bruce Fordyce, we learned navigation skills from the three-time Dragon's Back Race finisher Joe Faulkner, we heard about Mimi Anderson's amazing expeditions and first-hand about her forthcoming Trans-American run, we learned mountain skills with Stuart Smith, had a laugh with Rob Pinnington and his great talk about "How to fail at ultras", shared Aleks Kashefi's barefoot LEJOG adventure, and took the light-hearted quiz "Have I Got GUs For You?" with James Adams. We learned natural running form with Jon Cowell, heard from Sarah Morwood about coping with a long layoff after a terrible injury... and much more. It really was a wonderful weekend for all who attended.

But this year's event will be even better.

There'll be talks, Q&As, and 'how-to' sessions. There will be a fire pit, plenty of good local beer and food, and lots of opportunities to relax if you want to, or train if you want to. And of course, being ULTRA-related, there will be stories of adventure, freedom and endurance to share and enjoy.

So buy a ticket now while they are available, and come join us on June 2nd-4th 2017 at Radford Mill Farm, near Bath.
