FESTIVAL FAQs

How much does it cost?

The Early Bird rate is £100 for a weekend ticket. The Early Bird weekend rate lasts until 30th November 2016 at 11:59pm, when the rate rises to £125.

Camping pitches and camper van berths will be charged separately at £10 extra per person.

How do I buy a ticket?

You need to buy via our shop. Click here.

Can I come for the day?

We really want people to come for the whole weekend. Those that did this year had a fantastic time. So, only weekend tickets are available at the moment. Nearer the time of the event if there is demand and capacity we may release a small number of day tickets.

How do I get to the festival?

Here is a map showing the rough location of the camp site:

Detailed directions and any updates will be delivered to ticket holders two weeks prior to the event.

What time does it begin and end?

The festival officially opens at 6pm on June 2nd 2017, and closes at 6pm on June 4th 2017. The campsite must be vacated by 6pm on June 4th.
If you choose the weekend option and you intend to camp, you may arrive anytime after 3pm on June 2nd to set up your tent. There will be a number of people around the site in the afternoon and evening, so some social activity (eg some beers, food and a movie) will take place during that time.

Do I need to have completed an ultra to come?

No, everyone is welcome. It would help if you at least have an interest in ultra running, mind  :)

What do I get for my entry fee?

Entry to the festival
Participate in any of the activities, from movies to talks to workshops to social runs
A plentiful supply of nibbly snacks (eg crisps, nuts, fruit) and soft drinks
If you're an existing subscriber to ULTRA magazine we'll buy you some beers to say thanks!

What can/can't I bring to the event?

You can bring one person for each paid-for ticket. Dogs are not allowed. You can bring gas cooking equipment and barbecues, but no traditional barbecues please. No fires are allowed.

Meals

There will meal options provided by the farmhouse owners, which will be offered in the coming weeks to those who have bought weekend tickets.

Typical menu:
Friday Supper            Jacket potatoes plus filling, pudding
Saturday Breakfast  Cereals/fruit/yoghurt, cooked breakfast
Saturday Lunch        Soup, sandwiches, cake
Saturday Evening     Barbeque social supper around the pond
Sunday Breakfast     Cereals/fruit/yoghurt, cooked breakfast
Sunday Lunch           Cold meats, salad

Do I have to bring any gear?

It's advisable to be prepared for bad weather - this is England in June after all! There will be plenty of opportunity for activities - social running, nav workshops etc, so it's certainly worth bringing some running kit. Also there will be opportunites for newer ultra runners to learn from old hands too, so if you have a question about specific items of kit, like bag packing or kit strategies for multi-day races, think about bringing some of that along so you can ask specific questions.

What facilities will be provided for people camping?

Toilet and shower facilities will be provided, and a washing-up area for dirty dishes. Drinking water will be provided. No electrical hook-ups will be available.

Are under-18s allowed?

Yes, but with some provisos. They must remain under the care of an adult at all times. If they are to join in any of the activities, then they must be sensible, capable individuals, and suitably equipped and dressed. They should expect a typical festival environment - there is alcohol available at the event, and of course they may find some adults under its influence and perhaps a little profane occasionally. We would need to charge a fee for their entry, but it should be lower than an adult fee and this would depend on their intended level of participation - contact andy@ultra-magazine.com to discuss.

What is the refund policy?

If you withdraw prior to the event, the following applies:
Until December 31st 2016, 75% of the entry fee will be refunded
From January 1st - March 31st 2017, 50% of the entry fee will be refunded
From April 1st 2017, no refund is available.
If you do not agree with the refund policy and there is a possibility that you may not make it, please do not buy a ticket.

What happens if the event is cancelled?

If the festival must be cancelled for any reason, we'll set up a new date and invite you to that. If the cancellation is our fault (due to low ticket sales, for example) and you can't make the new date then we'll offer you a full refund.

We may change or add information in these FAQs at any time prior to the event, but we will communicate any major changes on this website and directly to existing ticket holders by email as early as possible.
